Janie F. Schulman is engaged in the practice of all areas of employment and labor law, including litigation and counseling. She defends lawsuits alleging wrongful discharge, sexual harassment, employee privacy claims, breach of contract, employment discrimination, Family and Medical Leave Act claims and wage and hour claims. Ms. Schulman also counsels clients on these issues, drafts employment agreements and employee handbooks and conducts training sessions for management and non-management employees. She also regularly advises clients on business immigration matters and assists clients in obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas for their employees.

Ms. Schulman served for three years on the firm's Pro Bono Committee and provides substantial pro bono services to the community. In 2001, she received the Los Angeles County Bar Association Honorable Benjamin Aranda III Outstanding Public Service Award and the Being Alive Spirit of Hope Award.

Ms. Schulman began her career with Morrison & Foerster as a paralegal in 1983. She returned after law school as an associate in 1987 and became a partner in the firm in 1995.

• Obtained summary judgement, upheld on appeal, in favor of major pet food manufacturer in disability discrimination lawsuit.
• Obtained reversal of $2.1 million discrimination verdict against Taiwanese Fortune 500 technology company and its U.S. subsidiary.
